You have to know that the Ligurians are considered even stingier than the Scots!

A Ligurian and a Scottish family live next door to each other. The father sends his son Giuseppe to the neighbour to borrow a hammer from him. After a short time Giuseppe returns without the Scottish neighbour’s hammer.
“He didn’t want to lend us a hammer. After all, it might wear out”.
The father nods in understanding: “Well, then we’ll just take our own hammer!”.

Two friends meet at the bar.
“Tell me, Pietro, how are your law studies in Milan going”, he says.
“I had to drop out, unfortunately!”
“Why is that?” asks the friend.
“Well, my father broke his watch. And now I have to become a watchmaker!”

In the pharmacy :
Ligurian : “I would like a toothbrush”.
Pharmacist : “Which one do you want? Natural bristles, plastic, soft or hard?”.
Ligurer: “It doesn’t matter to me. But it has to last a long time … there are eight of us in the family!!!”.
