O Sole mio

Thank God the sun does not belong to the singer of the famous song alone, but to all of us! And especially here in summer in Liguria, on the Italian Riviera!

But actually the sun shines here all year round. Less than 60 rainy days are statistically counted per year.

This special climate has above all a geographical background: in the north, the coastal region is protected against the cold north wind by mountains up to 2,000 meters high. The sea keeps the heat stored all year round, so that the temperatures over the year are not exposed to such large fluctuations.

So it happens that it doesn’t get so oppressively hot even in summer. And if it is still too warm for you, a trip to the cooler hinterland is recommended.
