Who is in charge in Liguria

Regional elections were held in Italy in 2015. Precisely in traditionally “left-wing” Liguria, Forza Italia, Giovanni Toti’s conservative party, won. He managed to form a government of various conservative parties.

Already at his inauguration, the new president of Liguria made it clear what his political priorities should be in the future: fight against corruption and a further tightening of asylum policy.

After party-internal quarrels, Toti founded a new party in 2019: Cambiamo!

In September 2020, Giovanni Toti won the presidency of Liguria again with 51.13%.

Toti was arrested in the early hours of the morning and placed under house arrest!
